La Drôme Classic: Meersman 3rd, Four OPQS in Top 15

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team riders were constantly involved in all the actions of the race at 189km La Drôme Classic on Sunday.

Serge Pauwels, Gianni Meersman, Pieter Serry and Jan Bakelants were able to get into the main actions in the final. Bakelants was in a lead group of 6 and even tried to attack inside the final 5 kilometers. However, his break mates were able to bring him back while Meersman, Pauwels, and Serry were in a group behind. Meersman had even tried to bridge across to the leaders.

Romain Bardet (Ag2R La Mondiale) was able to attack and win the race solo, with Sebastien Delfosse (Wallonie-Brussels) 2nd and Meersman 3rd. Bakelants finished 7th, Pauwels finished 12th, and Serry 13th.
