OPQS to Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne
Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team Sport Director Wilfried Peeters confirmed the two teams for the upcoming races this weekend: Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne.
"On Saturday we can count on riders able to be protagonists on the cobblestones," Peeters said. "We will see how Tom will be, but Tom is not the only weapon we have: Riders as Chavanel and Terpstra are motivated for the race as are the rest of the team. As for Sunday at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, Boonen will decide if he will start after the race on Saturday. For sure we will start with the aim to bring Cavendish to the final sprint. He won last year and he is in good shape. In case of a nervous race we will have other riders able to enter in the main actions."
Gert Steegmans will be at the start of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. During the week Steegmans was able to train despite a fracture to his right thumb, which was a consequence of a crash last Tuesday the 12th during training.
