Tour de l'Eurométropole Stage 2: Terpstra Top Finisher After Late Race Breakaway Attempt

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Niki Terpstra was the top finisher in 172.5km Stage 2 of Tour de l'Eurométropole (Circuit Franco Belge) on Friday, after riding in a three-man breakaway that was caught with 1km to go. 

Terpstra finished 20th in the bunch sprint finish. John Degenkolb (Argos-Shimano) won the stage, with Jean-Pierre Drucker (Accent.jobs-Wanty) placing 2nd and Jens Debusschere (Lotto-Belisol) finishing 3rd.

OPQS rider Nikolas Maes is now 5th in the GC, 8" back from leader Debusschere. Terpstra is also 9th, 11" back.

OPQS looks next to a 164.2km Stage 3 on Saturday.
