Niki's biography

Niki, the team’s quintessential attacker, enjoyed another solid spring, which saw him record another overall win in the Tour of Qatar, before placing in both Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Tour of Flanders, and taking the Dutch title and the GC in the Tour de Wallonie: “2015 was really good. All year long I was in good condition, and that’s nice to see. I won from the beginning, in the Tour of Qatar, got results in many of the races I did, and fortunately I didn’t have any injuries. Winning the National Championships for the third time was the highlight of the year, it was really special.”

Niki has two children: Zoey and Luca, who is his number 1 fan and is able to pick out Niki and his teammates on television during the races. Niki has the instinct for attacks, especially from far out, and the ability to hang on alone in front thanks to his skills as a time trialist. “My main goals will once again revolve around the Northern Classics. I hope for another string of good results there”, said the 2014 Paris-Roubaix winner.
