En 2014 Meersman fue "Sr. Consistencia ", con destacados puestos en muchas carreras durante todo el año. El epítome de esto fueron sus cuatro segundos puestos en el Tour de Valonia antes de ganar la etapa final, así como la general. Gianni sufrió una caída en marzo, lo que le obligó a parar de correr y entrenar en un momento importante de la temporada. Sin embargo, fue capaz de volver y correr fuerte para el equipo. Meersman es uno de los nombres más conocidos en el pelotón profesional. De hecho, Gianni es el hijo de Luc y el nieto de Maurice Meersman, los dos profesionales notables. Casado y con una hija, Amber, Gianni vive para su familia. “Ellos son lo más importante en mi vida. Si ellos son felices, yo soy feliz y puedo dedicarme con pasión y compromiso a mi trabajo”. Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco Stage 2: Kwiato Top 5 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Stays 2nd GC

Etixx - Quick-Step rider Michal Kwiatkowski defended his 2nd place in the overall standings on Tuesday by finishing 4th in the 175.4km Stage 2 of Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco. The stage, from Bilbao to Vitoria-Gasteiz, came back together with about 15km to go in the race as three riders out of the original five-rider breakaway were caught.

Handzame Classic: Meersman Wins After Textbook Leadout!

Etixx - Quick-Step spent much of the final kilometers of 198.6km Handzame Classic on the front, determined to set up the race for sprinter Gianni Meersman. The team got its wish, as the last riders trying to prevent the field sprint were caught going into the last 10km, on the final lap.

Le Samyn: Meersman 2nd in Select Group Sprint

Etixx - Quick-Step rider Gianni Meersman finished 2nd to Kris Boeckmans (Lotto-Soudal) in a small group sprint finale at 201.2km Le Samyn on Wednesday. Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) was 3rd.
