Giro d'Italia Prologue: Two in the top Twenty
Michal Kwiatkowski and Dario Cataldo both finished in the top 20, amongst many strong time trial specialists on Saturday at the 8km Prologue in Herning.
Both mentioned at Friday's team presentation that their goals were to finish high in the standings despite so many specialists. Kwiatkowski finished 18th (+29"), while Cataldo finished 19th (+31").
American Taylor Phinney (BMC Racing Team) won the prologue with a time of 10'26". He beat Geraint Thomas (Sky Procycling) for 2nd by 9", and Alex Rasmussen (Garmin-Barracuda) for third by 13".
Julien Vermote finished 23rd, 33" back.
