GP Cycliste de Montreal: Vakoc Top finisher in select group finale
OPQS rider Jan Bakelants and Petr Vakoc were able to get into groups that fought to decide 205.7km GP Cycliste de Montreal on Sunday.
Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) won easily after being led out by several teammates in the final kilometer. Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida) was 2nd, and Tony Gallopin (Lotto-Belisol) was 3rd.
Vakoc was 13th. Bakelants finished 23rd, 7" back with another small group.
The race came back together after one rider out of the original breakaway remained ahead inside 10km to go.
Gerrans won both Quebec and Montreal.
