La Drome Classic: Brambilla 10th in Race of Attrition

In a race where the peloton dwindled down to just a handful of riders in contention, with 15 climbs including four short-and-steep ascents on the final lap, Gianluca Brambilla finished 10th behind solo winner Sam Dumoulin (AG2R - La Mondiale). Dumoulin attacked very late in the race to win La Drome Classic solo. Fabio Felline (Trek Factory Racing) was 2nd, and Sebastien Delfosse (Wallonie - Bruxelles) was 3rd.

The devastation to the peloton, thanks to a flurry of attacks that seemed almost non-stop, led to just 13 riders finishing less than a minute behind Dumoulin. All 13 of those riders finished in very small groups, seconds apart.
