Levi Leipheimer's Blog: "We're Ready to Race in Argentina"
We have been in San Luis, Argentina for three days now getting used to the time change and doing some training to loosen up after the long travel. The countryside is varied as we've ridden through anything from high desert to green fertile farmland.
The people of San Luis are very enthusiastic as was evident by tonight's team presentation, one of the best I've seen. There were literally fireworks and confetti as the crowd went wild for the home teams.
The race starts tomorrow with a flat and potentially windy 190km stage that our man Francesco Chicchi won 2 years ago. Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team is excited to start the 2012 season and score our first win, and we have high hopes for tomorrow. I'll check back with you all in a couple days.
