Niki Terpstra Dutch rider of the year

Dutch champion Niki Terpstra has won the Gerrit Schulte Trofee as best Dutch cyclist of the year. During the 'Nationaal Wielergala' Terpstra was chosen over Robert Gesink and Bauke Mollema. Terpstra didn't attend the evening, as he was on his way to the team building of OPQS.

The 2012 season was a great one for Niki Terpstra. In March he won Dwars door Vlaanderen after an amazing solo. Also in Paris-Roubaix he was among the strongest riders and got away with teammate Tom Boonen — who won the race eventually — and he finished 5th. At the Dutch national road championships Terpstra took his second title of his career, followed by a great performance at the World Championships team time trial by taking the gold medal with Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team.
