Nokere Koerse: Maes Top 10 in Uphill Bunch Arrival

Etixx - Quick-Step rider Nikolas Maes finished 10th in the 197.7km Nokere Koerse - Daniluth Classic, a one-day race held in Belgium on Wednesday.

Kris Boeckmans (Lotto Soudal) won the race, which included a cobbled uphill final of 350m with 5.7% gradient. Justin Jules (Veranclassic - Ekoi) was 2nd, and Scott Thwaites (Bora-Argon18) finished 3rd.

The race came back together going into the final 10 kilometers as four leaders were brought back. Five riders of Etixx - Quick-Step moved up to the front in the final few kilometers, with a high pace, in anticipation of the bunch arrival.

The original breakaway of five riders had been caught with about 50km to go in the race.
