SRAM TO DRIVE OMEGA PHARMA – QUICK-STEP CYCLING TEAM TRAIN

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team will partner with SRAM RED components, Zipp Wheels and Quarq power meters for the 2012 season.

SRAM RED componentry has ridden to wins at every major race, including the past two versions of Paris-Roubaix and Tour of Flanders, annual targets for the team.

“In their short history in road racing, SRAM road components have won the hardest races in the harshest conditions”, Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team Manager Patrick Lefevere said. “My team is ready for a fresh start, and the move to SRAM RED is one of the first steps. Our bikes will be the fastest in the peloton.”

The Quarq CinQo Saturn2 spider will be paired with Specialized S-Works crank arms to complete the drivetrain package. “We are excited to have been given the opportunity to equip one of the legendary programs in cycling and work closely with Team Manager Patrick Lefevere”, SRAM’s Global Sponsorship Manager Alex Wassmann said. “The team’s DNA is about winning, and with the combination of leadership, riders, and bike technology (Specialized), you have a program that will be a constant threat to win the world’s most challenging races.”
