Lukasz's biography

Lukasz finally found the right sport for him after some trial and error. First he was a tennis player, and then he tried swimming. But after those attempts, he tested out cycling when he was 11 years old and discovered it was a perfect fit. He came to the team as a product of the Etixx Cycling Team, the continental team that was connected to Etixx – Quick-Step in hopes of preparing young talent for professional racing. “I learned a lot, and year-by-year I got stronger and better, and then I transitioned to Etixx – Quick-Step. They are the best and the choice was easy.”

Last year, he enjoyed a good start to his first season, but unfortunately things changed during the spring when he crashed hard in Gent-Wevelgem, and was forced to sit out of races for more than two months. As a result, he regained his form almost near the end of the season, and now he hopes for a injury-free 2016, so that he can focus on just getting better: “I don’t have any specific race goals other than to become a proper professional rider. I just want to improve and learn. Every race I did so far was something new, and I still have many things to discover. I want to give it all for the team, and I can’t wait for the Belgian one-day races, which I like a lot.”
