Carlos's news

Etixx - Quick-Step riders Carlos Verona and Gianluca Brambilla did a great job staying with a blistering tempo on the Category 1 summit finale of 175.8km La Vuelta a España Stage 15 on Sunday, which dropped many riders of the peloton as Movistar controlled the front for the final actions among the GC favorites.

Etixx - Quick-Step rider Gianluca Brambilla followed the actions of the main peloton, without much problem, through five of six total climbs in the taxing 138km La Vuelta a España 11th Stage, from Andorra la Vella to Cortals d´Encamp, on Wednesday. However, the italian rider lost contact on the final Category 1 climb to the finish of the Queen Stage, as Fabio Aru (Astana) attacked from the reduced peloton. The pace was simply too high as the group, consisting of most GC contenders in the race, split in pursuit of Aru with 7.6km to go.

Etixx - Quick-Step was again one of the most active teams in the peloton in the 146.6km 10th Stage of La Vuelta a España on Monday, with several riders of the team joining the large breakaway of almost 40 riders, and attacks by Carlos Verona, as well as Niki Terpstra, in the original escape group that constantly splintered.
