Guillaume — known to everyone on the team as Gulio for his perfect hair — is one of the most promising riders on the international circuit. Cycling is in his blood. His father, Kurt, was a serious pro in the ’80s, and his maternal grandfather, Benoni Beheyt, was the 1963 world champion in Ronse. The 2014 season was his most successful yet for Guillaume as a professional, with three big victories highlighted by the overall at VDK Driedaagse de Panne – Koksijde and his first WorldTour victory (Eneco Tour Stage 7). He also won the “Best Young Rider” jersey at Tour of Qatar. In 2015 Guillaume will continue to develop his potential, especially in the cobbled classics where, as a junior, he claimed an excellent win in Roubaix.

Guillaume's news

Etixx - Quick-Step riders Yves Lampaert and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck finished just 1 second apart, in 8th and 9th place, at the 6.85km Baloise Belgium Tour Prologue in Bornem on Wednesday.

Etixx - Quick-Step has announced the selection that will participate in legendary Northern Classic, Ronde van Vlaanderen on Sunday. There are 19 Belgian climbs (Hellingen) in De Ronde, which starts in Brugge and ends in Oudenaarde after 264.9km. The most notable hellingen are at least partially cobbled and will be a factor in the final kilometers. The Koppenberg is climbed once with 45km to go and includes a max ramp of 22 percent. It was moved to later in the race in 2015, which gives riders less of a chance to recover before the next key climbs. The Oude Kwaremont (2.2km, 4.2% average gradient) is climbed at 153km to go, 53km remaining, and 17km to go. Finally, the Paterberg, only 400m in total distance but challenging nonetheless with its cobbled and steep characteristics, is ascended twice at 52km to go and 14km remaining.

Guillaume Van Keirsbulck, defending winner of Driedaagse De Panne, finished 4th in the 14.2km Stage 3b ITT on Thursday, while his teammates Julien Vermote and Yves Lampaert also earned 8th and 9th place in the stage, which confirmed an 8th and 9th place overall finish.
