AMGEN Tour of California Stage 7: Trentin Puts up a Fight in Bunch Sprint Finale

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Matteo Trentin fought to stay with the main group of the 143.5km Stage 7 of AMGEN Tour of California, from Santa Clarita to Pasadena, on Saturday. He then battled with leadout trains of other teams to still manage a hard earned 6th place finish.

Peter Sagan (Cannondale) won the stage, with Thor Hushovd (BMC Racing Team) 2nd and Danny Van Poppel (Trek Factory Racing) 3rd. The peloton pulled back the last two riders out of the original breakaway with a few kilometers to go.

Guillaume Van Keirsbulck withdrew from the race for OPQS.

OPQS looks next to a final, 121.7km Stage 8 on Sunday. It's a circuit race in Thousand Oaks, and features three categorized climbs.
