Laurens's biography

One of the brightest talents when it comes to stage races and hilly one-day events, Laurens came into the spotlight last year in some of the most prestigious races of the U23 calendar, like Flèche Ardennaise, Tour de l’Avenir, Tour Alsace or Giro della Valle d’Aosta, where he also won a stage and the points classification. His results didn’t go unnoticed, and Etixx – Quick-Step signed him for the next three seasons.

Now, Laurens will have the opportunity to develop and find his place in the pro world without any burden whatsoever, as the team is ready to support and allow him to ride pressure-free on the long road that lies ahead. “I’m very happy with my 2015 season. Looking behind, I’m very proud of what I achieved and I realize that I have made some important steps for my career. Now I’m keen on developing, and I’m sure Etixx – Quick-Step will help me do that. My primary goals for 2016 are to learn and have a nice debut season.”
