Starting his ninth season as a pro, Daniel has already found his place in the squad and knows what he wants from 2016: “I’m just happy to be in a new team and excited for the season to start. Of course, it’s only natural I’ll focus on the Ardennes Classics, it would be incredible to take a victory there being in a Belgian team. To win La Flèche Wallonne would really special for me. I’ve been close in the past and I really want to win it. But I won’t focus just on one a race. My plan is to be at a high level from the first until the last event of the season.”
A rider with a high degree of panache, for many years in love with the Classics – winner of Liège–Bastogne–Liège (2013) and Il Lombardia (2014) – and always prone to attack, Dan is also a person with a special flair for languages, speaking French, Spanish, Deutsch, and even Catalan. When he’s not riding, he loves to discover international cuisine, Japanese and Mexican dishes being among his favourites.
