Trofeo Ses Salines (Trofeo Mallorca): Two OPQS in Top 5, Three in Top 10!

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team had their second strong performance of the day after a victory of Tom Boonen at Tour of Qatar. OPQS rider Gianni Meersman finished on the podium in 3rd place, Matteo Trentin placed 4th, and Michal Kwiatkowski crossed the line in 7th place in 183km Trofeo Ses Salines on Monday.

The race came back together in the final kilometers as Bjorn Thurau of Team Europcar went solo out of a breakaway. He had 20" of an advantage with 13km to go, but was unable to maintain his gap on the undulating course. Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) won the race, and Ben Swift (Team Sky) was 2nd.

OPQS looks next to Trofeo Serro de Tramuntana (152.9km) on Tuesday. This race will be one for the climbers as there are several high category climbs to pass.
