Carlos's news

Etixx - Quick-Step has announced the selection that will participate in La Vuelta a España. La Vuelta is a three-week, 3356.1km stage race and the last grand tour of the 2015 season. The race begins on August 22nd and ends on the 13th of September.

Carlos Verona was successfully operated on at Herentals Clinic for a scaphoid fracture of the left hand, which was fixed with a screw, as consequence of crash at Pais Vasco. The surgery went well and Carlos left the hospital today with a cast. He will wear the cast for 10 days and then the cast will be replaced with a brace. He will have to respect a recovery period of six-to-eight weeks, and normally can race again between 10 and 12 weeks from today.

Etixx - Quick-Step rider Tony Martin, who won a road stage of Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco solo in 2014, tried his luck again in 2015 by entering the breakaway at 162.2km Stage 4, but the four-rider breakaway was down to just Martin and Tom Danielson (Cannondale-Garmin) heading into the final kilometers with an advantage fluctuating between 10 and 18 seconds until they were finally caught with 6.8km to go.
