Maxime Bouet aka. Le Blond
Bouet’s father was the president of a football club in a small village where he was a boy. He started playing, and after a while it was clear he had a strong character and always tried to win. So, his father redirected him to cycling — a sport where he can work hard for individual success with the help of a team. He always has a smile on his face, and of course, a lot of ambition. He is known as “Le Blond” for his hair, “Which is funny because I am also a barber and I cut the hair of my teammates.” He loves all kind of sports, from cross-country skiing to football, where he supports Olympique de Marseille.
One of his favourite moments is climbing Mont Ventoux in a breakaway at the 2009 Tour de France, almost a decade after watching the race from the same slopes together with his father, who now came to support and see him finish not far from the main contenders group.
After a year in which he came close of winning a stage in the Vuelta a España, Maxime turns his attention to a new season where he’ll try to support the team and make the most out of his chances: “I have many plans for 2016: I want to work for my leaders, to continue improving and to win a race. Also, it would be really nice to do a good general classification in Paris-Nice, a race which I love.”
